Edyoucare’s goal is to supply education, counselling and coaching for those working within schools, institutions, public and private companies. It works in the areas of the prevention of violence, crises intervention and grief counselling and aims to further educate and qualify people for their own safety and according to scientifically proved methods.

WHAT DOES OUR NAME MEAN?
The International Institute for the Prevention of Violence, Crisis Intervention and Grief Counselling was founded in September 2007 in Innsbruck, Austria. The offices are presently situated in Seuzach, Switzerland.
The name itself has three relevant parts:
1. Education:
It is primarily to do with the education of Human Resources employees, School Directors and teachers, Emergency Psychologists and Emergency Counsellors.

The human touch is so important. Firstly in that we, the authors of KrisenKompass, are personally involved in the further education of and interaction with those on the ‘front lines’. Secondly, we would like to offer a contact point for the often burdensome experiences that Human Resources personnel or teachers undergo.

It’s all about being there for one another and supplying a caring environment. In a sense, helping you to help yourself. We offer advice on how to deal specifically with difficult situations and/or how to avoid the dangerous ones.

OUR CONCEPT
Edyoucare runs educational courses and is involved in crises intervention in accordance with the following concept:
The psychological intervention is based upon giving the person in care the feeling of personal value, integrity and worth and helping them to get in touch again with feelings of security, control and the ability to look to the future.
The Emergency Psychology is built on these principles:
1. Immediate and timely reaction
2. and getting to the person in need
3. using a salutogenentic approach in order to empower.
The Salutogenetic method approaches the person as more or less healthy though dependent on his or her internal and external resources. After a traumatic experience good health can be maintained and encouraged when a person is supported in three essential areas.
1. Knowability:
The restoration of the person’s perception of their environment and of himself/herself as structured, understandable, explainable and, to some extent, as sensibly predictable. The world and oneself do not seem given over to fate or incomprehensible.

2. Manageable / Surmountable:
Knowability enables manageability. One accepts the ability to overcome internal and external problems. And in order to achieve this one own’s resources, assistance from someone else or from a higher power can be called upon.
